Purchasing from Iuvo Kennels

When you purchase a Collie from Iuvo Kennels, you can be sure that we have taken the time and effort to provide a confident, happy, and ultimately healthy puppy.

Steps to Purchase

  • Get in Contact with us!

    • Call, email, or send us a social media message so we can talk a little.

  • Fill out an application

  • Get on our waitlist

    • Waitlists can last up to and beyond 2 years depending on what your puppy requirements are.

      • Having specific colors you want or a specific gender may make your wait time longer.

    • Typical waitlists are around 6 months-1 year.

  • Pay Your Deposit

    • This does not happen until a puppy has been chosen from our litters that would match your requirements and a puppy that will meld in to your home.

  • Determine Transportation

  • Pay your remaining balance

  • Pick up your new best friend!

If you would like an older, retired dog, let us know. Sometimes we have these dogs. They may be retired show dogs or breeding dogs. Some of the service dogs may wash out of our program and be ready for a career change.

Which Puppy Will I Get?

We pick out your puppy. There may be one or two puppies that would meet your lifestyle and needs. In that case, whoever was first on the waitlist will get the choice. However, we as the breeders get first pick every time. We look at a couple of things to find your perfect puppy. We look at what kind of puppy you are interested in, your preferences and the temperament that would fit your lifestyle specifically.

  • Interests: service prospect, show prospect, breeding prospect, pet, sports prospect

  • Preferences: female or male, coat color, eye color, coat type (Smooth or Rough), and parents (this is not always a guarantee as we may sell the parent, retire them, or no longer wish to use them in our program)

  • Lifestyle: Do you live in a house or an apartment? Is this your first dog? How active are you and your family? Do you have children or a growing family? ETC

The more preferences you have, the longer you will be on the waitlist.

  • If you need a service dog prospect, your preferences are a male tricolor Rough, and you have a sedentary lifestyle, you will be waiting for quite some time, especially since we do not have Roughs very often.

  • If you need a show prospect, you only want a female with no additional preferences, and have an active lifestyle, we will probably have two to three puppies that would work for your lifestyle per breeding and you will be on a shorter waitlist.

Please Note that a Service Dog Prospects May Not Appear in Every Litter and There May Be a Longer Wait.

Transportation Options

Ideally, you will come to our home in South Central Indiana and pick up your puppy on your designated puppy pick up day. However, we understand that sometimes that is not an option due to unexpected things. We do allow for transportation of your puppy.

How can I get Iuvo to deliver our puppy?

  • Ask!

  • Determine your distance.

    • If you are within four hours of us, we will drive in a climate controlled vehicle to deliver your puppy.

    • If you are over  four hours from us, we will deliver via air.

  • Pay the additional costs.

    • This is determined by airfare, gas pricing, and distance at the time of delivery.

  • Pay the remainder PRIOR to the departure of your puppy.

  • All puppies being delivered will go home AFTER the puppies that are being picked up.

What to Expect on Pick Up Day

What an exciting day! We expect you to be happy, scared, nervous, and excited all at the same time. We look forward to meeting you and allowing you to join the Iuvo family. We will meet you with open arms with your new family member when they are 10 weeks old.

  • You will get all important documents.

    • vet records, temperament testing, registration, pedigrees, Collie specific information, and resources.

  • You will get microchip information.

  • You will receive a goodie bag.

    • This varies from litter to litter but generally includes something with Mom's scent, a brand new toy, and some of their current food.

Early Puppy Visitation

We have a responsibility to our current pet and breeding dogs, but mostly, to our new puppies and puppy parents, to keep our puppies healthy. Unfortunately, people tend to not think about the issues that come with visitors coming and going, allowing life threatening illnesses that can devast a litter quickly.

When the pregnancy is confirmed, we will send you many videos, photos and information about the puppies. We will allow our designated puppy care team in to continue socialization that we know will follow our strict sterilization protocols. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience but it is not something we can risk.

Fully Trained Service Dogs

If you are interested in a fully trained service dog through Maggie's Foundation: Pet Training, LLC and Iuvo Kennels, please reach out at maggiesfoundationdogtraining@gmail.com

You will go through the interview process for both MFPT and Iuvo.

We rarely have fully trained service dogs readily available as they are usually sold significantly before they are trained. However, you can always reach out.

MFPT is a dog training company with significant service dog training history that will allow for fully trained service dogs. These are rarely readily available but they are available by pre-purchasing and signing an agreement and going through the interview process for both companies. There is no time frame on this service since dogs can wash out, we cannot guarantee when we will have another service dog prospect from ours litters not already spoken for, or determining how often we choose to breed.

*** As a reminder, all fully trained service dogs are Collies only.
